Frequently Asked Questions
Every student has many different questions when it comes to enrolling in any kind of program. This section will answer some of the frequently asked questions about the Naada Yoga Teacher Training programs. If you can’t find what you are looking for feel free to phone us at 514.510.3274 or by email at info@naada.ca
How much yoga experience do I need?
At Naada Yoga we believe yoga is for everybody. We accept students regardless of ability, age or experience. With that in mind, there is a large amount of yoga practice within each program. We recommend starting to attend regular classes as soon as you can if you don’t already have a consistent practice. You will be required to fulfill a certain amount of practical hours for each course. Specific admission requirements for the 300 HR and 500 HR program can be found on their program pages.
Do I need to be interested in teaching?
NYTT programs will qualify you to be an inspiring, safe and effective teacher. However, we also have many students who enroll solely for their own personal development. Tools learned during each NYTT course will enable you to gain greater fulfillment from your yoga practice and your life.
What style of yoga or lineage do NYTT programs follow?
The NYTT program is primarily a Hatha based program. At Naada Yoga we don’t follow a single lineage, style or approach. We pride ourselves on having a diverse teaching staff with different backgrounds so that you can gain a well-rounded education in yoga. Through the training and your teaching practice, we are here to help you find your own voice and a teaching method that is authentic to you.
Can I take a course individually?
Yes, students looking to deepen their personal practice may audit any program at a discounted rate. Teachers wishing to receive CEU’s (continuing education credits) to be put towards a certification must enroll at our regular tuition rates and pass the course exam.
When can I start my 500 NYTT?
All 500 HR NYTT courses are modular, allowing you to start and complete your education at anytime. The 200 HR stream begins in September and finishes in December. The 300 HR begins in January and ends in June. Once registered you may complete your courses at your own rate but have a maximum of 2 years to achieve your certification. Refer to the course schedule to discover the next upcoming program.
What if I miss a class?
100% attendance is required for all NYTT programs. If you are not able to attend any of the evening and/or weekend-intensive sessions, it is your responsibility to: (a) inform the teachers prior to that weekend and (b) inform yourself of the material missed.
Are payment plans available?
Yes! Finances should never be the limiting factor when embarking on a journey that you are passionate about. Course fees are usually due in full two weeks before the start of a training course. Please contact us at info@naada.ca to help us create a payment plan that suits your individual needs.
Are scholarships available?
Yes! If you come from either a socially and/or economically disadvantaged background or you represent an underrepresented population not commonly found in modern yoga studio settings then the Yoga Mala Foundation is offering partial scholarships to Naada Yoga’s 200hr Foundational teacher training program. Please apply here. https://yogamalafoundation.ca/scholarship/
